How To Trick Your Brain: Try Adding More

When it comes to the behaviours we want to change, we typically focus on doing them less, and then wonder why we want to do them more.
The subconscious brain cannot process the word ‘don’t’. It’s simple: when you don’t want to think about something, you do. Try this with almost anything. Don’t think of your favourite home cooked meal, the snacks in the cupboard, or a white elephant. Don't think of the deadline looming, or the tasks you did not complete on your "To Do" list. We can't - that becomes the very thing the brain will focus on.

But, we can outsmart our own biology, by focusing on what we want MORE of.
